Just returned from our yearly autumn trip to the Smoky Mountains. The overall theme for this trip was rain and fog, which made for some really excellent moody photos. Before the rain and fog however, on Monday night, our first night in the park, I knew would be my only night to try out my new star tracker so I took it up to Clingman’s Dome. I was a bit too tired to hike to the top so this is from the parking lot. I could spout a ton of technical mumbo jumbo that went into creating this image but I’ll just say it’s my favorite Milky Way shot I’ve done in the Smokies yet!
