I spent almost an entire golden hour one evening shooting around Rivers of America, Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain and Frontierland in general. It’s one of my favorite areas to photograph sunset as I feel the golden tones from the sunset go really great with all the earthy tones in Frontierland.
Shooting & Editing Rivers of America Thunder Mountain Sunset
This was shot with the Nikon D810 and Nikon 70-200 2.8. The sun had already dipped below the horizon here but I was still getting a really great orange glow in the sky. I used 2 shots blended together with luminosity masks to create my base for this shot. My single exposure was just slightly too bright in the sky so I used the image one stop below it to bring the sky down a bit. I used Nik Color Efex Pro Contrast per usual and then used a couple photo filter adjustments at various intensity’s and settings to enhance the warmth of the image. I did some minor color balancing along with a hue/saturation adjustment push. I finished off with two passes of sharpening.
