This was my next to last photo I took on my most recent trip but I think it’s going to be one of my favorites. I’ve taken plenty of shots down Main Street USA before but I’m really digging the off angle here and the lighting just turned out great.
Shooting & Editing Main Street USA & The End of a Trip
This was shot with the Nikon D810 and Nikon 70-200 2.8. The 70-200 spent a lot of time on my camera this most recent trip as I’ve fallen more in love with it the more I use it. It’s an all-around fantastic lens but I just love the vertical lines I can get when using it among its many other great characteristics. I had to wait a bit for some people to move but setup and shoot was relatively quick and straight forward. On the editing side I continue to increase the attention and time I give to dodging and burning my images. The impact of good dodging and burning on an image to me feels to have more impact than any of the other edits I do to the image. Unfortunately it’s something I feel a lot of people overlook dodging & burning as edits often comprise of moving camera raw sliders and perhaps doing a few adjustment layers. I spent about 2.5 hours just on D&B for this image and while I don’t think all images necessarily need that much time and attention I really love to give images I consider signature images the extra time and attention. I highly recommend looking into dodging and burning if you are looking for a way to take your Disney photos to the next level. It may seem tedious and difficult at first but once you get the hang of it the results are very rewarding.
